Washington Trails Association Brand Book

All of this was created with abobe Illustrator and Photoshop. For this project I created a brand book based on Washington Trails Association. This process took 4 weeks which included rough drafts and critiques. The final design can be found below and the brand book will be attached below. The following buttons are for all the rough drafts that will be seen below. The rough drafts below are smaller to fit this page, but if you would like to view them larger there are PDF and links to that. Each step for the process is explained below as well. In the brand book itself it explains why each decision was made including color and typography.

Step 1: Logo Design

At the beginning of the process I looked through there website and wrote down what was important to them. After this I drew out ideas on what each of those meant and that lead to logo ideas. The rough and final draft are below. There is also a link to view these in a larger form. After critique this lead to a final logo that is used for the next step.

Step 2: Icon Design

Using the logo I used the colors from this and the main design which is more straightedge and simple. In order to create these designs I looked at the main topics they wanted people to see. This lead to 4 different rough draft designs. After critique I narrowed these down to two icons to be used on the final page.

Step 3: Creating a web page design

The first step was finalizing the colors and text that was going to be used on everything. After doing this I made 2 layouts which included 3 pictures and 4 levels of hierarchy. After critique I created the final web layout which can be seen below.
